DC Comics | Gay Character may be the original Green Lantern Rumor says that revelation comes out next month in the U.S.
The Bleeding Cool site reported that, according to his informants well-connected in DC Comics, the gay character to be revealed by the publisher is Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern.
The character more or less fits the profile advanced by DC is a male hero, already established and prominent - Scott is part of the DC universe 72 years ago. However, DC has appeared in post-start: he had a brief involvement in the first issue of Earth 2, the series that debuted this month in the USA. According to the website, the revelation of the character of homosexuality will be in the second edition.
Perhaps to avoid controversy, chosen out of the closet now lives on Earth 2 (one of 52 New Earth's New Multiverse DC) and not the Green Lantern original "real", Hal Jordan, but his version less famous of the Age of gold comics. Alan Scott came in 1940 when Green Lantern had explained his powers with a mixture of mysticism and prophecy, unlike the Green Lantern after 1959, when Hal Jordan redefined the character anchored in science fiction space.
The DC has not commented on the rumor, but ensures that the gay character will be revealed soon.

DC Comics will reveal that important hero is gay Dan DiDio says that character "outstanding" will come out of the closet in the New 52
DC Comics plans to take a "prominent" hero of the closet. According to publisher Dan DiDio, an established character will be resubmitted - refurbished in the universe of heroes from the publisher - as a homosexual, and "must become one of our most prominent gay heroes."
DiDio was speaking today at the comic convention Kapow! In London. Everyone expected the new gay hero the DC Universe was an unprecedented figure - according to what the actual DiDio told the Advocate last year - but the publisher says now that plans have changed and the new orientation is assigned to a familiar hero the house.
The revelation does not have a date certain to happen, yet.
Honestly? I see no reason reasonable, justifiable, logical or sensible to suddenly a superhero or superheroine known and famous decide to change their sexual act and "assume" that are "gay," "bisexual," "lesbian" and such. The only apparent reason is to attract controversy about the character and thus the attention of the audience did not "get right" with no minority. It is the typical idea: "Let's take a super-famous character make it an issue out of the closet and generate a lot of controversy about it so as to further scale up sales and still seeming politically correct minorities." It was the same rough idea of when it became The Thing Marvel a Jew (because his middle name was Benjamin "Jacob " Grimm and "brilliantly" it was deduced that a "Jewish name." Well that was I do not know but I know that if I lived in the real world now The Thing would have been expelled from most of the Jewish communities of New York and the United States), Spider-Man in a Protestant (just because their parents were Germans and some executive "brilliantly deduced again" by his surname that he would be one ...). .. I wonder ... what's in there religion, sexual preference or attitude or lack thereof, and such political ideology do with the lives of superheroes? I do not buy Spider-Man to read the adventures of Peter Parker "Protestant Nerd" buy to see Spider-Man the maker of the neighborhood buddy jokes while facing the world. I do not buy the Fantastic Four to read The Thing "the Jew good square" buy to read "It's Clobberin Time!" I'm not interested in the sexual choices of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Cyborg I do not read them because they are "Gay" "Lesbian", "Bi" or whatever I read the adventures they live as superheroes! Miss the times when it was not that important to think about things like religion, sexual act or the political ideology of the characters and they were heroes for their own human qualities as individuals and because they wanted to do what it was "not right" was at least "fair" for that particular story. Today the world has become so complicated that a place is simply just a hero who saves a child from a fire because she turned pro burning building to save you forgot your kitten back when she and her parents fled (regardless of her being Jewish, Muslim, Protestant daughter of a gay couple) is no longer enough ...
